With the Oakland Pirates and the Marin Mavericks still struggling for player numbers and having to forfeit their games on Saturday the GGAFL played a combined game with the players available.
In hot and sunny conditions the "Smurfs" lasted to become winners over the "Bloods" with some good fast high scoring football.

We managed 4 goals: 2 in the first 10 minutes of the game, and 2 in the last 10 minutes. In between OC kicked 22 goals and probably as many points.
Few highlights for us on the day, but the following players need a mention:
Davide De-Vellis.

The GGAFL opened it's 7th season on Saturday April 26 in Concord. An enthusiastic ANZAC Cup match the week before had led officials to believe the season would open in fine style and even the weather cooperated. With bright sunshine and no wind to speak of, players started arriving for the games but, it would seem, not enough of them.
