Scoresheet
Golden Gate Roos came up short against the San Diego Lions, losing by a mere 4 goals in a tough game with the final score being 84 to 60. The game was played under low light with a worn brown ball in temperate weather perfect for a game of footy. Golden Gate had 16 players + 3 guest Subs and San Diego brought 32 players to the field. Although the Roos played well and were only down by 1 goal at the half, they were ultimately overrun by the larger and more skillfull Lion's squad.
For the Roos -
Chris Johnson was a key player with several telling marks despite being ill,
Davide de Vellis and Captain Kyle Johnson were prominent through the midfield,
Saleh Tyebjee took 12 marks and kicked 3 goals despite having a separated shoulder, and the entire Golden Gate back line defended admirably. In particular
Aaron Bradley lead the way at fullback and Noam Scott played a tough style of Footy from the half back line.
Goal kickers for Golden Gate were Saleh Tyebjee with 3 goals, Kyle Manly Johnson with 2 goals, and Davide de Vellis,
Luke Quirk,
Mike Lancaster, and Bryan Dragus with 1 goal each.
