Firstly a final thank you to all the guys and gals that made the journey down to Orange County for what turned out to be a tremendous weekend. Of course it would have been even more special had we come away with a win!! Even though we lost, a lot of good came out of the game and to walk away with a 4 goal loss is certainly not embarrassing at all. I think I speak fairly when I say that the signs are good for 2010 and with the right preparation we will continue to improve as the season continues. Thanks to Leigh Barnes,
Michael Jobling,
Luke Quirk,
Aaron Bradley and
Chris Johnson for their organization and assistance throughout the weekend.
I am still waiting on the final scores but I do know Orange County kicked 10 goals and we managed 7. Congrats to Bradley & Jobling who kicked three a piece and to big
Brian "Gigantor" Lewis who kicked his first goal in Roos colors. Congratulations to Quirky who played his 100th GGAFL game and I think we all agree he was one of the best. Best on ground honors went to
Saleh "Salad" Tyebjee and Chris "Buckets" Johnson. A special mention was given to Aaron Bradley who after a traumatic week stepped up and gave us plenty, as did Greg Blackman.
A huge thank you to the ladies that travelled with us...we had 10 in total, 7 of which combined with 5 girls from LA and 2 from San Diego to play a game. Finally a big shout out to Lon Payne, Adam Linke and Heber Saurey who also played in a second game consisting of other players from Orange County and San Diego. Heber slotted through 3 goals in this game and Linke 2.
